Thought Pantheon

Terms

The agreement between you and Thought Pantheon when you use the site, in plain words. A short summary comes first, then the terms themselves.

In short

This is a summary to help you read the terms. It is not part of them, and it does not change them. Where it seems to differ from the terms below, the terms apply.

  • You must be 18 or over, and an account is for one person.
  • The tutor is an AI and can be wrong. It is not professional advice, and it gives no certificates or qualifications.
  • What you write here stays yours.
  • The fair-use rules forbid, among other things, breaking the law, harming anyone, or getting around the site's limits or payments. We may suspend an account that breaks them.
  • The free trial is given once for each email address. It needs no card, and it never turns into a paid plan by itself.
  • The monthly plan is $19 a month, in US dollars, and renews each month until you cancel. Allowance you do not use does not roll over.
  • The number of lessons is an estimate. We never charge you for using more than you bought.
  • You can cancel any time from Plan & usage. Your plan stays until the end of the month you paid for.
  • Ask within 14 days of a payment, with at least three quarters of its allowance unused, and we refund the whole payment. A charge we made by mistake is always refunded in full.
  • We tell you at least 30 days before a change to prices or to these terms affects you.
  • If we are responsible for a loss, our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it happened. Nothing in the terms limits a responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited.

About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and James Perrotta, who runs Thought Pantheon. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. The privacy notice explains how your information is used.

The service

Thought Pantheon is a tutor that runs as a website. An AI writes the explanations, questions and feedback. The site runs the steps of each lesson, marks your answers from the key points, and schedules reviews. We may improve or change the service over time.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to have an account.
  • An account is for one person. Do not share it.
  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
  • Use an email address you can receive mail at. It is how you confirm the account and recover it.
  • Thought Pantheon is offered to people in the United States.

Using it fairly

Do not use Thought Pantheon to:

  • break the law, or to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
  • try to get around its limits, its payments or the one free trial per email address;
  • overload it, break into it, or copy it in bulk by automated means;
  • get the AI to produce content that its provider's usage policy forbids.

The AI comes from Anthropic, and Anthropic's usage policy applies to what you ask it. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.

The AI can be wrong

  • The tutor is an AI. It can state things that are false, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important against another source.
  • Thought Pantheon is for learning. It is not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
  • It gives no certificates or qualifications. Its marks are for your own practice, and must not be used to make decisions about anyone.

About the AI explains what the AI does and what the app checks.

Your content

What you write here stays yours. You let us store it, and send it to the AI provider, as far as we need to provide the service to you. You can use what the tutor writes for you for your own learning.

The free trial

  • When you confirm your email address, you get a free allowance of about 1 lesson of tutoring, for 14 days.
  • It is given once for each email address.
  • No card is needed, and it never turns into a paid plan by itself.

The monthly plan

  • The monthly plan costs $19 a month, in US dollars, paid in advance through Stripe.
  • It renews each month until you cancel. Each month you pay for brings an allowance of about the size shown on the pricing page. It lasts until the end of that month, plus one day.
  • Allowance you do not use does not roll over to the next month.
  • The number of lessons is an estimate. The allowance is spent at what each step really costs, so a long or difficult lesson uses more than an average one.

Top-ups

  • A top-up costs $10, paid once, and lasts 365 days.
  • The allowance that ends soonest is used first.

When the allowance runs out, or the AI is paused

  • We never charge you for using more than you bought. Lessons with the tutor pause until your plan renews or you add a top-up, including a lesson already started.
  • Your saved lessons, notes and reviews stay available, and reviews carry on with you marking your own answers.
  • We may pause the AI for maintenance, or when our own spending limit is reached. Your saved work stays available while it is paused.

Changing prices

We may change the prices or what a plan includes. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change affects a plan you pay for, so you can cancel first.

Cancelling

You can cancel the monthly plan at any time from Plan & usage, in your account menu. Your plan stays until the end of the month you paid for. Nothing more is charged after that.

Refunds

  • Within 14 days. Ask within 14 days of a payment, with at least three quarters of the allowance it brought still unused, and we refund the whole payment. Plan & usage shows how much of each allowance is left.
  • Mistakes. A charge we made by mistake, such as a double charge, is always refunded in full.
  • Otherwise, payments are not refunded. Cancelling stops the next payment.
  • When a payment is refunded, the unused allowance it brought is removed from your account.
  • To ask for a refund, email help@thoughtpantheon.com. If you think a charge is wrong, please email us before disputing it with your bank.
  • While a dispute is open, the account cannot buy more, and new AI steps do not start.

Ending your account

  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings. If you have a monthly plan, deleting the account ends it at Stripe first.
  • We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where it is fair to, we will warn you first.
  • If we close Thought Pantheon for good, we will tell you at least 30 days before, so you can download your data. We will refund the unused part of any payment that covers time after the closing date.

Our responsibility to you

  • We work to keep Thought Pantheon running and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of mistakes.
  • We are not responsible for decisions you make based on what the tutor says.
  • If we are responsible for a loss, our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it happened.
  • Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited.

Changes to these terms

We will tell you about a change that affects you at least 30 days before it takes effect, by email or on this site. If you keep using Thought Pantheon after that, the new terms apply. The date at the top is the version of these terms and the privacy notice together. The version history below says what changed on each date.
